Because they are neither a billionaire or a playmate. And because they have blinders on... as in, they hide options from themselves. Or, they're just cynical. But I prefer the first two options.

How many is the time that Mrs. Snow points out to me, "she wants you" about someone or other. I kindly disabuse her of that notion and we compromise on "that girl was flirting with you". So, yeah.

She does AND she loves it. For a couple reasons. Well, more than a couple, but I really don't feel like being pedantic this evening.

Another woman wanting me feels good. People want to be wanted and the older we get the further removed we get from that. So being wanted feels good. And when I feel good, well, that's rays of sunshine in the Snows' life. She likes that.

She has Mr. Snow. They don't. She likes that.

And, I choose her. A barista can flirt with me, etc., but I'm actually drinking the coffee with Mrs. Snow. And listening to her vent after a long day at work. And coming home to her by choice. Because, let's face it, cynical people aside, there is ALWAYS a choice. And I choose her. And she knows it. She likes that.

Isn't that exactly why people are cynical? Generally the richer the man and the bigger the gap the more it feels like it's obvious the real reason they're together. They don't love each other. It's a case of state recognized, long term prostitution.
