Why do I not like being told “we all do” or “you’re just like me?” or sharing hobbies with people?

Because it reminds you of the reality that you're not, in fact, special. Every 'quirk' you have is shared by 99% of the human population. We all just tend to aim those quirks in slightly different directions, giving the illusion of being different. We have an innate desire to see ourselves that way because we equate 'different' with 'better'.

And so being told 'everybody does that' equates to 'you're nothing special'.

Here's what actually makes you different: Instead of getting angry and rejecting what I said, you considered it and even selected it as most helpful. The vast majority would have done the opposite.

The ability to objectively consider a seemingly negative point about yourself is admirable.
