What's bad about preferring to be around like-minded people?

I value associating with acquaintance (s) who I get along well over getting exposed to different viewpoints. Holding everything else equal, I'd rather be alone than getting exposed to different viewpoints.

Nothing at all. It's the internet that is the problem as it is removed from reality which allows people to argue about what is real. And a group of people isolate themselves to insist on one particular false reality, it can lead to problems. Before the internet you had to go through all the work of creating a whole cult to generate enough believe in an alternate reality to deceive each other. Now you can practically type in whatever you want to believe in Google and whole media empires will be presented to you, eager for you eyeballs.

I prefer the company of small circle friends - less gifts to buy, less parties to attend, hahaha 🤣 more time for me for me 📅🌹

I realise I'm not cheap, yet I'm also not antisocial. I just am mindful of who I pick for company hahahaha 😉😂

There's only pros from being with like minded people - not the guy who's the friendship group idiot like Stifler in American Pie 🥧
