My bfs ex was his bestfriend now they talk is this ok?

My boyfriend when we first started dating said he wanted to still be friends with her but not anytime soon turns out he was talking to her for over two months and telling me he wasn’t going to talk to her for probably years later. He also would always talk about her in detail like her favorite things how much they had sex etc and I got so irritated by it I had to start telling him to stop as it was hurting and for context I have never been with someone before so it was like a huge blow to me. Now fast forward they keep talking even though I’m not really comfortable with it and he knows. I am also in multiple college classes with his ex which is great. I guess like would you guys allow thy is is it ok? Am I wrong for just wanting her out of my life?
