When I was living with my narcissistic aunt, I received an email from a "Girl I had a crush on." I wrote her back and kept writing her. I finally talked to her in person and she had no idea what I was talking about. I went back to read the letters and I don't know how I missed this, but in one of the letters, she was talking about her "Sister". She didn't have a sister! It was my narcissistic aunt writing the letters.

How I found out it was her, I overheard her talking to her cousin, and they were making fun of me. I swear, I'm better off alone!

@Siri137 Yeah, pretty much. Narcissists are dangerous people. They abuse people, but they're the ones who play the victim. That wasn't the worse thing she ever did though. I'm glad to be out of there!

I think everyone has been a little tricked at some point. To the point I fell for and pursued something with them? No.

To the point of mutual attraction? Yeah, I'd bet that has happened.

And then there's just the fact of how good many women are with a camera. You could go on a date with a girl who sent you a dozwn just taken yesterday photos and still be disappointed as though you were tricked.

I've never gone to meet someone and felt they're a different person entirely. But I have absolutely met people who were a very far stretch from what they initially appeared.

I think there might be one person I'm exchanging DM's with at the moment here on GAG who may not be what she appears to be. 'Catfishing' is always hard to prove unless either you catch them out, or they confess.
