To me, this would be annoying and a turn off if done to try to get me to go out w him or during our first few dates, but, it is normal once you are dating steady, I have never NOT been called by cute nicknames or had "jokey" expressions of affection stated for me once dating, it doesn't really matter whether I like it or not it will happen regardless so I accept it. The guys though proccess is "what thing can i say to get her to like me and get points Oh Ik ill say this line to get her to like me". Guys do this instead of just talkingn to a girl like a normal person.
