How long do you give your boyfriend or girlfriend to text back before you start getting upset?

I give them as much time as they need. People get busy and can't always respond right away, especially when driving. I dated a girl once that would get pissed if I didn't text back within a minute, and she would send a hundred more, one after another.

If a girl can't talk to me person to person, she needs to work on her communication skills. When I send a text to someone, I know they may be busy or can't get to their phone, or their phone may be on the charger, as mine is a lot of the times because batteries suck!

OK, not really. I pretty much know where he is so I know why he wouldn't be answering, so several hours depending on what he's doing.

I'm old school. We call each other and carry on a conversation. Maybe try calling instead of relying on a text message

I have messaging disabled on my phone. If you can't be bothered to actually talk to me, what you have to say can't be too important.

Well I don't get upset if he doesn't respond quickly instead I wonder if he got the text or not

As long as he wants, unless it's important like we're meeting up, a date, an event. He needs to reply IN time.
