I was thinking something like hey you're (her name) right? And she says yes and I say my name, then I'm not sure what to say after but at the end should I say something like "I thought you were really pretty and if you want we should go out sometime". Am I doing this right?

She hasn't earned that compliment. Just say hello and allow the conversation to flow. If there is an opportunity to build a little attraction before asking her out, do it. If not than just ask, but know the chances of her saying yes go down significantly. Understand that as a man, your time and attention is valuable so do not give it away for free. The same goes for compliments. Men through compliments out so often that women do not appreciate them. Look how careful women not to do the same...

@KetoJames No. Negging is when the guy says or does stuff specifically in order to attempt to reduce her self esteem or perceived value. Or when he makes underhand compliments that create doubt. I'm simply suggesting the guy understands the value of his own time, attention and only does things that have been earned!

If that compliment hurts your self esteem, you're pretty sad. Just throw it out and leave it at that. Later she will seek him out, to find out what he meant, and what color is best for her.
