In a long distance relationship, how often you should text someone is a personal choice and also depends on individual preferences and schedules. However, it is important to have clear communication with your partner about how often you both expect to communicate.
If you feel insecure when you don't hear from your partner, it may be helpful to communicate your feelings with them in a calm and non-accusatory way. It's possible that they may not be aware of your concerns and may be able to reassure you.
It's also important to have trust and open communication in a long distance relationship. If you find yourself constantly worrying or assuming the worst, it may be beneficial to explore these feelings with a therapist or support group to help work through your insecurities.

I'm in a long distance relationship right now where the I'm in CST and he's in EST. Me and my boyfriend text each other constantly throughout the day and in the evening after we've both had dinner and finish our responsibilities, we call and play a game together daily. We spend the night on our calls because we like to sleep "together" because it makes us feel safe.
It's LDR, you should be calling more. You don't build an emotional connection as well through text and you have limited ways to bond. When I was in a LDR we spoke twice a day, at her morning and bedtime, which was the opposite for me.
