There's a saying... show me the hottest woman in the world and I'll find you a man that's tired of her shite.

If I got left for someone half as attractive as me, chances are I'm not as attractive on the inside as I thought.

You're clearly devaluing yourself. You might be more attractive than the uglier one and might be that girl couldn't recognise your worth which could be actually her loss. If someone leaves you doesn't mean you're unattractive but it's because they are losers

You're very kind, thank you, but no I just meant hypothetically speaking... because somebody can be really nasty on the inside and horrible to be around, then they get surprised when they get left for someone who isn't maybe as classically attractive but who is a genuinely nice person.

I'm never going to fault "my replacement"... they either are a step up or a step down (because no two people are the same), but I'm far more interested in devoting the mental energy to how can i improve myself as opposed to "what is SHE doing with HIM?" sort of thing.

When I was younger yeah. But not anymore. I've simply seen too much to put any real validity into that. But if you feel that way it's understandable. It's a pretty normal reaction it just seems logical. But you have to remember feelings aren't logical.
