I'm not sure there is a name for it , but I can understand the strategy , its much easier when you force the other away and then blame them in the press conference after the game , not sure that break ups always have to be official though.

hmmm , I didn't say that , I had a friend who used to do this , but he did coz he just hated breaking up , he'd string em along for years sometimes , he just hated the confrontation part. Eventually he grew up , but he just couldnt discard , and his attitude would just change 100 % . He was gutless if you like --I kinda get it. I dont think he's a bad guy in his heart , maybe confront him?

But if you have loved someone for years and are committed to each other, and there is a engagement that you cannot push him to separate, the years of your life need clarification and confrontation.
I confort him but he says" if you want to leave.. then leave i dont force you to stay" !!!
