1, would you ask a blue on a date "what is your 5 year plan"? or an irrelevant question? 2, if yes would it be your first time? or have you asked it in the past? 3, if you asked it in the past, did a blue ever have a five year plan to tell you about?

No, that's an interview question.

I might ask what they see for themselves in the next several years, so we can see if we have long term compatability (i. e. if I date someone who wants to move to the US, I know that's not worth pursuing).

But I'll tease those out over the course of a conversation. We'll start talking about work, or skillsets, and I'll ask if they like their career and what they want to accomplish in that sense.

Or I'll ask about their hobbies and ask how long they've done it. Previous experience can be a good indicator for future behaviour, etc.
