Is it weird to get ready for a date hours before you go out?

So I was going out around 9pm and I got dressed at like 2pm for the date and my Friends were saying that it was weird I got ready so early to go out and then was cleaning my house. Do most people get ready closer to the event?

I don't think that's unusual at all. In fact, I enjoy helping the woman I'm serving prepare for her dates with her boyfriends, and I'll often go to her home the night before and thoroughly clean her home from top to bottom, wash the dishes, do her laundry and give her a pedicure, because I want her evening with the luckiest guy in the world to be absolutely perfect.

Your friends are just being negative nancies. It shows that you are excited for this date and just wanted to get things done ahead of time. Nothing wrong with that

That's a bit too early. I like to plan in advance but I start getting ready two hours in advance only. I want to be fresh by the time we meet.
