How can you tell the difference?

Recently, this girl asked for my number, but wasn't interested. It happens, but I felt dumb about it. Anyways, is there anyway to tell if a girl asks for your contact information either to be friends or they are interested?

You need more clues. If she was being playful and asking you information about yourself, and later asked for your number a good sign she is interested.

Perhaps also her asking for your number was a hint to you to make a move. I have done this in the past where the guy wasn't making a move 😂

Try flirting/teasing on text and see how she responds. Make a challenge and say if I beat you in X you have to try this new restaurant with me.

I dont know. I guess knowing new people can be exciting. You need more clues, like does she hang around you often or try to, ask questions about you, asked her friends about you. She will do almost anything to interact with you both verbally and non-verbally!

She texted me the next day nice meeting you etc and all. I added her on snap and she even replied to my story and all around the same time. So most likely then right? Literally initiating convo.

I mean I gave it to her. She said we should exchange contact information. I was like yeah, I can give you my number, next thing I know I'm putting it in her phone.

As I suspected, you were too easy. Obviously it depends on the situation and whether you could see her again etc but there should have been some kind of screening. I want to know whether a woman asking for my number is worthy of having it.

I believe she asked for your number for a reason. Whether she wants to be friends or more than that. There’s got to be a reason. How was her body language?
