I’ve gone on two dates with this guy from a dating app. We get along well and he is very easy to talk to. The only thing is he is very touchy and I barely know him. I’ve been single 6 years and only been in one relationship and he has been in many relationships so maybe it’s just me. By touchy I mean always wanting to hold my hand, kiss me, etc. I’ve told him to slow down and he tries but still is very hands on (not sexual hands on but it still bothers me). The only real thing that I’m confused about is and I know this seems shallow but he is way heavier/bigger in person I would say fat but that is such a mean word. I am thicker myself but he is much larger than me and typically I am into thinner guys or thick guys but not guys as big as him. He used to be thinner as I’ve seen in all his photos which attracted me to him. Also his facial hair is kind of a mess. I know I sound so shallow but I do like him. I just don’t get butterflies when I’m with him like I would if I were with a guy I was sexually attracted to. Any suggestions on what I should do? I’m at a loss because we get along so well but he’s just not my type looks wise. I feel like we’re very compatible but the “butterflies” not being there worries me.

If you're not getting butterflies when you're with him and you're not sexually attracted to him, then it's probably best to move on and not waste each other's time. The relationship may be compatible, but if the passion and fire is not there then it's probably best to pursue other options that are more suitable for you. There's no need to compromise or settle for someone who you cannot develop a greater romantic connection with, no matter how compatible you may be personality wise. Life is too short to settle for someone you cannot fully connect with on every level, not just on a personality basis.

I agree with anonymous. I would break things off. Firstly he isn't respecting your wishes and if he has posted photos of himself showing himself to be smaller than he actually is, it makes him a liar.

Break it off. You can’t have a serious relationship like that. And trust me, I tried it before too with a girl I wasn’t attracted to. I ended up just thinking of using her for sex, but I knew that was messed up, so I ended it. And honestly, it’s the best route, because I don’t think back of going back to her.

So could you talk to him. Tell him how you really feel. I mean men will go through great lengths to get a woman. Would you be willing to lose weight w him for the benefit of both your health? Or do you feel in your eyes you’re fine the way you are? Fuck if a girl I liked was honest w me about that, that I had a real shot of being w her if I cut some weight hand me a salad and a treadmill. Because in all honesty he probably knows it himself that he needs to lose weight.
