Is my profession a turn off?

I have two degrees, a Bachelor in Design and a Masters in Civil Engineering.

In my first degree I noticed that I had a lot more dates and guys interested in me (especially once I mentioned Im an artist/designer).

As soon as I dove into the field of engineering, I got the opposite reaction.

Why is this? And what would you consider to be an attractive profession?

I can't imaging why your profession would be a turn off. It's honest, pays well, and requires brains. Besides, you're also creative.

I can think of careers that would be a turn off, but yours isn't one of them.

That is odd, I don't see how their could be a connection.

i work in a top-level profession and what I get is men presuming to know anything about it when they truly don't, and then being "enamored" of what I do based on how it's portrayed on some second-rate sitcom
