Would me telling a girl I like her push her away?

I was seeing a girl for about a month. We had a few great dates and seemed to get along very well. One night after a few drinks we were watching a movie in my room which eventually led to making out. After a while of that I asked her if she wanted to go any further and she said she wants to be sober when it happens. I tell her no problem and that her being comfortable is all I care about. She says she is comfortable and that she really likes me. Fast forward about a week, for whatever reason I decide to tell her how I feel and how much I like her. The unfortunate part is that after that things changed and I never saw her again. I don’t know if I said too much or said it too early or what I did. I never tried to date before this as I was focused on other things so this was my first experience dating. My eagerness may have taken over but I was really excited that I thought I had found somebody I enjoy spending time with. So did I scare her away?

You approached this situation from the perspective that you are both human beings that enjoy spending time together. Your excitement was through the connection you thought you had. But unfortunately, the majority of modern women do not function this way. They are more interested in the unattainable, unknown, unexpected, uncontrollable, unloving. You should have continued the way you were... focusing on other things.
