I work in a grocery store and the lady I mention is an Instacart shopper, so not quitwe a customer, per'se. She goes to my line a lot and we always have tons to chat about and we've made each other laugh a few times. I've always had the opinion that asking out a customer is very risky and I could get in trouble for doing that. However, I once worked with a supervisor that told me he did that quite a bit himself and, to my knowledge, never got in trouble for that. I've also seen co-workers date each other plenty of times, and even my former service manager (supervisor's boss) date a supervisor in training. I still feel it's risky to even ask, but I keep thinking about it since she seems really cool. And if she was unconventional and asked me out, I wouldn't say no. I have no idea if she has a boyfriend or anything. What do you think?

My uncle always used to say, "don't shit wear you eat."
A job isn't worth risking for a chance at a rejected date offer.
Better, stay friendly and maybe you'll run into her off duty, just don't stalk her to make it happen artificially.
She may even make an opening first, which would your best option if at work.
Yeah, that's basically my mindset. I want to, but it's very risky and I don't think it's a good idea. I'm sure she's smart enough to understand that I can't really ask her out in this situation. My best play is to coax her into asking me somehow, which is unconvientional. But she could have a boyfriend or even be married. I really don't know. Thanks for your answer!
You're welcome.
I would say get more closer in a friendly way and know more about her and whether she's single and then go for it with a date if she is giving enough signs
Not a bad idea. I once made a joke towards her saying if you get checked out by the same person 3 times in one day, you should get a free smoothie or something, so in the unlikely event I do end up dating her, I could do that haha
