I had a guy say girls don't like older men but boys like older women as if it was a fact. Then he said girls who like older men are in the minority.

There couples of both types in my orbit. I’d say the breakdown is (roughly) about:
1/4 older woman/younger man.
1/4 about the same age or very close.
1/2 older man younger woman.
This has been a topic in our social circle before and I think the consensus is people love who their gonna love no matter what. When we ask about celebrity crushes the majority of the women are picking male celebrities older than they are. (Tom Cruise, Chris Pratt, Jason Statham, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves, and so on.). The majority of the men tend to pick younger celebrities where their beauty is clearly the dominant factor.


The older man/younger woman is my situation and there seems to be a large segment of the female population who like the stability, maturity, financial resources, and experience of a man north of 40. I am a faithful man to my wife but have found women surprisingly more flirty and direct in the last several years of my life and the last couple years in particular.


In the end - to each their own.

It’s probably worth adding, after additional research, the older female/younger male age gap seems to peak at about 4 years whereas the older male/younger female age gap seems to be close to 8 years, at least in our little clan of friends and family.

Based on what I've seen and heard, more women prefer older men than do men prefer older women.
Older men who are in good shape generally look more manly than your guys.
Older men are more sophisticated and know how to treat women.
Older men are more financially secure and have assets like cars and homes.

Most men prefer women their own age or younger. That's a statistical fact.
Young women look as good as they will ever look.

It is. It has always been noticable to me that young girls went for the experience of an older boy at first. Every girl I ever new had their first experiences with older boys. Makes sense that they would want the maturity and more experience at first. From my point of view it's not until woman are middle aged that they want the young guys.
