I was married for 24 years to a woman my sister hated. And honestly, I do not even blame her. She always though the woman was not good enough for me, and honestly, she was right. My sister told me way back at the beginning, this woman got pregnant on purpose. That women just know when other women are not right, and that since she is my sister, she feels she has to say that to me. But if I love her and if I wanted to marry her anyway, that she loves me and will respect my choices... but she will never really respect my wife.

And my sister never did like my wife, and when my wife divorced me, my sister was there for me when I needed her the most, but honestly my sister was always there for me, it was my wife that made it hard.
