What helped you gain confidence in the dating pool? What are things that helped you get a girlfriend and what kind of advice would you give another short guy? I’m 23 and 5’3 and 3 quarters and I’m having a hard time putting myself out there. And I’ve never been in a real relationship before. I’ve tried dating apps but I didn’t really get any matches besides OF girls trying to get me to subscribe. And i have a hard time trying to approach women. I’ve read a whole lot of articles and womens opinions about the subject of short vs tall men and definitely beat myself up over the results.

Height matters to some women, but it’s not the deal breaker the internet makes it out to be you’re losing more ground to hesitation and self-doubt than to being 5'3". Build confidence through action: get in great shape, dress sharp, improve posture/voice, and practice small daily conversations so approaching women feels normal instead of high-stakes. Focus on environments where personality shows (social groups, hobbies, classes) and be direct short guys who own it, flirt a little, and lead interactions do far better than guys who wait to be chosen.

Dating apps cater to 20 percenters. The short girl you’re looking for is in a coffee shop or a library somewhere, equally afraid to ‘put herself out there’. Focus on being curious, interesting, and talking to everyone about everything, not specifically on dating. Build it (yourself) and they (she) will come.
