But if I say let me just sit back and wait for someone to come to me, no one does.

Dating apps are for hookups. If it's not in real life I'm not taking you seriously. I work with animal charities a lot. I know anyone I meet there at least shares one interest with me. Same with any other endeavors I have. There's too many women in real life that I interact with to give a rando much serious consideration in light of the fact that most people lie about who they are on the internet.
