I told my date I would try her hobby but o don’t have time to do. What could I tell her so I don’t upset her?

She’s very passionate about volunteering at this dog rescue. She’s very passionate about it. But the only thing is in order to try it out with her it to fill out this form on the site. Then I have to for someone to call me. In order to do it I would have to go during the week. Some of the questions are very personal. Is there any way I tell her I can’t do it without letting her down?

Not really. You've promised something and aren't following through.

Also it doesn't sound like there's any good reasons you have for wanting to dip out. It all just gets down to "it's effort and I don't want to".

Personal information and questions are to be expected when volunteering for animal shelters. Heck, I've volunteered for places that need a police background check - which is totally fair. I was working with vulnerable populations.

If you don't want to, you just need to own up to it and take your consequences.

I was going to volunteer with her once to try it out figured it would be thoughtful but it a hole process to go through and then they what personal information and stuff. I’m not sure what I’m going to do.

If you aren’t comfortable going through the process and sharing personal information that’s totally fine, just be honest with her about that. I’m surprised they want so much information for volunteer work, usually these places are eager for the extra hands.

Yea like where I work references a so on. Should I just do it or tell her? I promised thinking I could just go on my own with her. But I got to wait for a phone call and make an appointment and go there a certain time. I can’t go on my own until I go 3 times like on probation of some sort.

Talk to her about it, maybe she can give you some insight or knows something about it that you don’t. Who knows maybe you can surpass some of this stuff with her as your reference since she already volunteers there.

Well she sent me the form to fill out. I really like this girl and I don’t want to loose her. I know she’s very passionate about it because that’s all she talks about.

The fact you said something that you aren't going to follow through on is so much bigger of a deal to women than what you aren't following through on. Why don't you put the application in and see if they can work with your schedule? This might be the kind of thing that you can only commit to once or twice per month. If you try to make something work that just doesn't work, she's going to hear that totally differently from the way she would hear you not even trying.
