What is your stance on following a guy/girl on Instagram by just finding it but not asking if they have one first? (please read story below)?

There’s a new girl at my work who I thought was kinda cute. We talk from time to time but I didn’t think much of things. The other day however we talked but only for a bit since she had to leave when I started. She actually was going to give me her ig to write down but the pen was out of ink and so they just had to go but said next time.

I just assumed they thought of me as a friend and didn’t really think much of things until talking about it with a coworker and they told me they were asking about me the other day thinking I was cute myself. That kinda changes how I see it now.

Anyways today I actually found their ig myself but feel kinda reluctant to follow. I just don’t know if it’ll seem weird. I’m wondering if I should just follow them, or if I should wait until my next shift or two to see if they’re also there to then ask them but then if they’re not I’ll just follow them then. Or, I’m wondering if I literally just shouldn’t follow like at all until seeing them in person and asking, regardless of how long that may be. What do you think sounds best?

Ah man that's a tricky situation. On one hand, it'd be cool to connect with her on IG if there's some mutual interest. But at the same time, following without asking could come off as weird or creepy.

My advice would be - if you see her at work again soon, try chatting more and see if there's any obvious signs she likes you too. Then you can casually be like "hey I found your IG, mind if I follow?" That way it's not completely out of the blue.

If you don't see her for a while, maybe wait until next time to ask in person. Nothing wrong with expressing interest, but best to do it respectfully y'know? Social media can complicate things. Just play it cool for now, see what happens at work, and go from there. Hope it works out!

Ask her directly first otherwise she would begin to move away of you. Since she was the one considering this, ask her ig again even if you know it already. Act like you didn't know it at all and follow it in front of her. That should help you the most.

I think that the best optionis to be patient and ask her when you see her again. This time bring your own pen lol. That way you can follow each other and it doesn't seem like you're stalking her page knowing you'll see her the next day lol. It's ok to be excited but done get ahead of yourself.

I don't have Instagram of any socials... but, if I used them I would ask the person to add each other if they wish to, this if I knew them and interacted with them in person, of course...
