What actually is considered dating, like I never really understood where the line of a crush and I'm dating you is?

I've never done it... But I think its basically hanging out with your crush, arranging a meeting to talk and get to know each other better. Only you two and outside of your regular routine or wherever you normally meet.

Dating comes before being boyfriend/girlfriend. That's what people nowadays mean when they say "crush". Your crush is the person that you like or find attractive the most. In the way to become boyfriend/girlfriend you firat get to know each other and talk, then you date and then after some dating (once you've found out if you are "made for each other" and if he REALLY loves you) you might propose to the other person. (Asking if he/she wants to be your boyfriend or girlfriend). But at your age you can sort of do whatever you want cause I doubt the guy will know how it works either...

So boyfriend or girlfriend can be thought of as a "commitment" to that person... because since you found who you truly love (by dating him), you focus on him only and dont date other guys. Otherwise its really the same... Nothing stops you from kissing your crush or whatever before being boyfriend/girlfriend or even dating, if that's what u want. Be brave enough just go to him and ask or tell him what you feel for him, that you'd like to date in order to know him better, or whatever it might be. It is worse not to try than to try and fail.

Having a boyfriend is probably the first step of dating. Having a crush on each other is not what I would call dating in itself. It could be the forerunner of actual dating.

When you are dating, you would probably do things together while when you have a crush, it is usually limited to looking at each other without any common activities.

If you go out and do stuff together, both with the knowledge that you’re anything more than friends, then it’s a date.
