“We should do this again soon”?

I went on a date last night and thought it went really well since we were both laughing all night, didn’t want to leave, etc. At the end of the night, when he was dropping me off, he said something along the lines of “we should do this again soon.” Then followed up with specific plans but how he’s “really busy this week and then going out of town that weekend.” But that it’d be “soon.” Well, it’s been a week, and he still hasn’t texted me. Why even bother bringing up a second date if you’re not interested?

Talk to HIM about it, you're trying to kindle a relationship with him, not a bunch of people's best guesses and projections from their own experiences, so call him and find out what's going on. If he still seems disinterested then move on. Did he even say what he's busy with? Usually a "busy" excuse is easily discovered by just asking what they're busy with, because most people are too lazy to think of something to say in the event that you ask.

I have the same with, Latter _ never most of the time then there's maybe = never never.
I tend to ask questions that are Y or N, as I understand we all need answers but if I am busy I don't want to have to stop what I am doing to give a reply.
so maybe soon is this year as the latter is never. do hope this helps
