Do eyes really tell a lot about us?

Question

I have recently been talking to the person who has a very successful business in China.

Well, talking is - exaggerated.

I answer him maybe once a week.

But today we had a nice conversation and since he’s so successful, I asked him a suggestion about my own business - That I am willing to start but always procrastinating.

He gave me some amazing advice and then told me, I just need to start and then be as persistent as possible.

I told him I am hell of a persistent person and he said

“I know… Your eyes tell a lot more than you think they do.”

I wonder is it so obvious?

Everything is in the eyes. Biology would say your pupillary reflexes are autonomous and uncontrollable. That's big words to say you can see if someone is ok no matter how much of a brave face they put on in how their eyes react.

You can see if someone is attracted to you or if something you say appeals to them or hurts them. It's why professional gamblers wear sunglasses and a visor indoors - so you can't see the reaction to their cards and your bet.

I knew a guy a few years ago who was a QuickDraw expert. He worked the carnival circuit in England teaching people - mostly children - gunfighter skills. In competition he would watch his opponent's eyes to see when they were going to draw.

So yes, eyes tell us almost everything - if you know what to look for

I can't tell so well since in Japan, it's considered rude to make direct eye contact while having a conversation. 😅

That said, I learned to make direct eye contact while speaking to Americans. I never really understood how eyes tell anything more about a person though than their overall facial expression, mouth, nose, hands, posture, tone of voice, choice of words, fashion, choice of food and drink, etc. The eyes can communicate a lot as with any other part of the body but I never saw it as communicating particularly more than any other part.

Not much people actually answer your question. They only see eyes contact as a courting invitation, being flirtatious, and maybe rude, that also all depends on culture.
The eyes tell so much more than people think.
There are some people I can have a full conversation with just with a brief eyes contact. You can understand so much more than what is being said with eyes contacts only.
Even if someone is good at lying, they can’t fake much with eye contacts.
I learnt a lot about eyes contact in China too!
And I leant that in Japan it’s rude with direct eyes contact. Stare at the Neck, or the forehead instead!

There are lot of financially broke people who invested in businesses and failed despite having eyes of a persistent people. Most businesses fail that's why you should never risk more money than you can afford to lose.
I know someone who bought cheap stuff in China and tried to sell that stuff in EU. This business worked 10 years ago, now are markets so enormously over satureted with china crap, he sells car sits produced in my country to China because Chinese business people love family vans with handmade luxurious interior and they hate made in China stuff. I'm not surprised. XD

The eyes say a lot but this guy sounds like he's just telling you what you want to hear.

That is the last thing a successful business person would say in response to that if they take you seriously... Especially if you're only talking online and not in person.

I know we're on gag or whatever but think about how these people's lives play out and how they make decisions.

As soon as he heard you say "willing to start" he's asking himself "why didn't you start it already" because he's already met a million women who are "willing to start" a business and feel the same attraction to him that you're starting to get now.

And as a final piece of advice, maybe you already know this but when your texting habit is to respond to eachother one week at a time. You're both trying to manipulate eachother. One more than the other. That's not in any sense a real relationship if there's a sexual undertone present.

Unless you get what you want from him before he does, I'm doubtful it's going to end well.

Late to the question, however yes our eyes can be used for a lot of silent communication, this can be between friends to show boredom of someone talking, for someone to change th subject (a glare), also simply closing them can signal the need to leave or go.

with flirting, they provide a depth of use, flirting with another person that understands how to use their eyes is a laugh, admittedly, your mouth comes into for some as it adds the smile or other expression for backing up your eyes.
Culture also change how they use them, direct eye contact is frowned up on in some, in others it’s seen a challenge.

Eyes tell a big part of a story. I sat down with a woman at work once and based on 3 minutes of conversation where I asked NO DIRECT QUESTIONS, I relayed back to her when she thought the conversation was going to be bad, when she got interested, what the most interesting part was, when she was exaggerating about a work duty, who her favorite person was to work, least favorite person to work with, and whether or not she planned to stay with the company for more than a year. This was all based on eye, facial and arm movement and posture. So, eyes don’t tell you everything, but they tell you a lot. Whereas in sports, the hips tell you more than the eyes.

I do believe that our eyes tell a lot about us. I can see sadness, happiness, hatred and sometimes evilness in someone's eyes.

My sister says that my eyes have a special glow. I'm a dreamer and I believe in people's goodness, so I assume that's why she sees this glow.

People are all the eyes will tell your everything then am I a dumbass who doesn't know how to read them or it's really not that big of a deal. Anyway when analyzing people I'd look for clearer signs. For example scientists concluded that contempt, smirk, eyebrows that are not turned downward while crying (crocodile tears), "hollow/dull" eyes are signs of narcissists.
