If you were stalking a guy on social media and he worked it out when he saw you, but looked angry about it?

Saw this guy at an event and found out who he was through mutual friends online, I got my best friend to add his account so I could learn more about him and turns out he has a girlfriend, after a while of realising we probably wouldn’t be compatible anyway, I just unfollowed him from her account and made it that he wasn’t following her either.

One day im walking and he recognises me and is watching me but then looks at my friend as well and when he looks at my friend he realises the situation, and he looks pretty p*ssed off about the whole thing. I know he told his brother too.

Is his reaction a good indicator that he didn’t like me anyway? Ps, after walking past him and seeing how shocked and annoyed he seemed, my friend told me she sent another request a month ago but he declined it. So it makes me look worse…

This took place when I was a teen, I’m now entering my late 20s. The reason why I’m asking this question is because I still have mutual people in my life that know us both, and see this guy on the odd occasion just around town. There’s more history than what I’m putting in this question but it’s not relevant because I didn’t want your answers based on all that. There is literally no point in trying to talk down on me based on something that happened when I was younger… save the bs

I'd say it sounds like a good indicator he liked your friend, and was pissed because you got in the way of that "I made it so he wasn't following her either".

It honestly sounds like your being a bad friend to your girlfriend and behaving in a way that is generally, at best socially, frowned upon.

His reaction is an indicator he recognises your trying to interfere. It gives no clue to him liking you previously, but its very probable he won't like you now getting in the way of him reaching out to the girls he wants to.

My advice to you is, don't interfere with your friends connections online. There isn't anything wrong with doing a small amount of passive follow up on someone you like, reviewing their public profile or whatever, but you cross a line when you interfer with who they follow or even you follow them selfishly just long enough to 'stalk' them to decide not to follow them.

Sorry to say but every girl, and I know some men do it. Im more sus of the people who act like they’re above it. I don’t do this anymore but I still have connections to this guy and see him in public on the rare occasion so want to understand how it appeared.

Anyway, you’ve just made a whole story up in your head so I don’t know how you came to this conclusion… he wasn’t single and they never messaged each other. I'm not trying to give you an attitude, and genuinely I don't wish to offend. For my generation "stalker" is a serious concern. Having done some thinking, and talking to my colleges at work (not about this just generally about terminology) I realise that stalker now-a-days is sort of like 'crushing' would be.

So, yeah, maybe we hit a miscommunication. I read stalking and think old school creepy, where as your just meaning gentle follow up to find out some things (I take).

Saying Stalker is defo is a serious concern but when people say “stalked on social media or online” it’s usually not very serious. It’s become a normal part of having social media, I guess I expected people to understand that without having to overly explain myself. Unless they’re using online stalking to find out their address and what not, I wouldn’t care if someone was stalking my social media. Everyone does it, and yeah it’s usually people who have a crush on you. It’s not that serious, very lame and they should probably find a hobby, but not dangerous.
