Hypothetical scenario: Would you elope with the girl you love?

Say you live in country X and the girl you like/loves lives in country Y. You met the girl in country Y. Would you elope with her in country Z, following her and starting both lives kinda "from scratch" leaving all the parents and relatives in the respective both countries? That would be a dream.

No. I would marry her in my country, but I'm too close with my family to leave them behind. I couldn't do that to them.

I never get how a person can date a person in a different country or at least not from the same one.

That sounds like a fairy tale. And the reality is that if you have a good relationship with family and friends you would be breaking an opportunity to strengthen that bond by my not letting them be a part of that aspect of your life.
