It was a date I set up. I had a dress from 2 years ago that I never got the opportunity to wear, because I was in hospital for a long time, and surpassed the date/anniversary celebration.

So I wore that while my boyfriend at the time was out golfing, enjoying his morning hobbies. I told him to get ready for a nice surprise when he gets home! He left smiling and in good spirits.

I had ordered special groceries through the grocery app, and made from scratch his favourite TBone steak, with marinated stuffed cheesy mushrooms, caramelized onion, and baked a delightful load of fresh, warm, garlic bread. I also sauteed asparagus, and made his favourite side dish (fried bell peppers cut into strips, with spicy chili sauce)

I set up the beautiful lunch, set the table up and everything. Dressed up nice, and when he walked through the door he was REALLY surprised, happy. He hugged me and kissed my cheek, telling me how well everything looked.
We cracked our fav whisky and sipped together while we enjoyed the meal! I then made a secret desert the night before while he was in bed, it was a layered ice cream dessert, with frozen strawberries. I had to let the ice cream defrost enough so it can be cut and eaten (it was frozen like a rock lol)
He decided to take a shower, and i had started the dishes, when he came up behind me (stark naked) and picked me up, carried me into the shower with him LOL

Unfortunately the romance was soon dead, as he didn't even thank me for any of it. He watched me do the dishes and clean up, as he sat on the couch and watched tv instead of joining me on the blanket i had set outside so we could star gaze. Then gave me sh** for going to bed too early (at 10pm) bec I was tired from doing all the prep, cooking / cleaning up. :(

Sadly that relationship ended after 8 years, as he expected me to dismiss my 6 year degree, my government job that took 4 years to get into, and give up my career, my aspirations, move 3 hours away from my workplace / family, to "prove my commitment" to him.

It was the most romantic night i have ever had. I hope to find a partner who WILL be interested in stargazing, enjoying little moments like that with me some day.

every date is the most romantic date since I started dating my current fiance so I can't really decide on this one
as for parents, I don't think I need my father's approval being an adult myself but he knows about him anyway
