Best date you ever went on?

My absolute favorite is one I've already shared on here so many times that people might be getting sick of it, so I'll go with my second favorite.

Early into dating my wife, I picked out a very romantic date with a park that had a lake. I thought she'd love it if I took her on a romantic boat ride, just the two of us. Like this:

It was also April and the cherry blossoms were in season, and that particular lake had private secluded areas away from other people. I really picked it out carefully trying to set the mood, even though I'm not normally very romantic (I'm the type of guy that often feels the need to crack a joke when things start to resemble a romantic movie too much).

So as we strolled through the park and got next to the lake to take our boat ride, my wife (then just my date) insisted that we take two boats. She wanted to race me across the lake!

That was a complete disruption to my plans, but then we took our separate boats and raced each other, huffing and puffing. Then she splashed water on me while I splashed her back. I ended up winning but she turned into a humorously sore loser about it saying, very jokingly, that she lost because she worked out the day before and still fatigued. 😂

Anyway, I really loved that date. My wife surprised me in a very nice way!

First date I ever went on with a girl that I had liked for a year but couldn't work anything out with during that time. She finally agreed to go on a date with me and we wound up dating for 6 years. I was 15 years old at the time and so was she. We were incredibly happy together and I went through my days feeling as though I just won the lottery only better. We had a very fun relationship for a very long time.

First I went on with my husband. We spent 7 hours together getting to know each other and I was so happy when I went home and laid in bed.

I went on a lovely first date with a lady I met online. We'd been talking platonically for like 9 or 10 months before we met in person when I was in her city on a business trip. We hadn't met in a romantic forum, so it wasn't like we started talking with the intention of dating.

It may have been the serendipity of the situation, but we went to a tapas restaurant and drank wine all night. We had a great time, and even talked about the possibility of me moving down and giving a relationship a go. It didn't end with sex or even a kiss (it seemed inappropriate/overly forward in the context), but we did have a second date before I left town. Lots of spark. Lots of romantic energy. Lots of "come hither" eyes, even if it was just the wine talking.
