I had girlfriends from the time I was 16.
Many of them simply got really close, moved their faces within inches of mine with their lips relaxed and slightly parted, and looked searchingly into my eyes. It's the classic invitation to kiss.

When I was 36, I asked a gorgeous, short, 30 year old out on a date. We met at a restaurant and got along great. Afterwards, I walked her to her door.
She unlocked it, then turned and stepped close, put her hands on my shoulders, rose onto her tip toes, pressed her breasts against me, and looked up into my eyes. I put my hands on her waist. Then she gave me a tender, lingering kiss on the lips.
Her lips were so soft that my head spun and I tingled all over.

After my first date with my (future) wife, I walked her to her car. Before we said goodbye, she did just about the same thing.

With both of those women, there was no tongue or face eating. They just initiated an exploratory kiss to see how I would react and to show that they were interested.
