After this survey, I kind of confirmed the following. Most women are self centred. Most women like to be number 1Most women think a single dad wants them to mother his child. Most women are selfish by nature and in denied about. Most women's expectations and reality are too far apart.

Personally not up for it. Not because he's wrong or bad, but because I am not into having kids of any way.

Those kids and that guy deserve someone who will want to be there and show up for all of them.

I know myself and I know I'm childfree (also sterilized) - I like kids. Just in small doses and with the ability to give them back to their parents.

It would be wrong of me to date a single father because he needs a partner who also wants his kids.

If I were a parent, I wouldn't accept dating anyone who didn't want to be an active and involved part of my kid's life and who could reliably and joyfully show up to do so.

I see the effects and know them personally of having a parent who didn't really want kids but had them because the partner wanted them. It sucks. It feels bad as the kid. They can tell.

Back when I was dating, I dated a single Dad that had two boys and I had a son of my own. Mine was 3, his were 5&7.
I didn't mind being with all of them. But the 5 year old, Brian, he was depressed because his mother just up and moved out and got a place of her own. She saw them on some weekends, but that was all. She abandoned them basically and poor little Brian took it really hard. He even left kindergarten without permission, walked home and sat on the front porch. I think he was waiting for her to come back but she never did.

Another guy was divorced and shared visitation with his ex-wife.
But I was around them a lot. He had identical twin boys 3 years old. They were precious. I liked them more than I like their Dad.
When we quit seeing each other, I didn't miss him, but I sure missed those little boys.

I tried but honestly i want to be his priority for a little while. At least a couple months to a year before we make a baby of our own. When i dated this single dad, he was having too many issues with the mother of his kid, particularly a custody battle. Plus he kept tryna make the kid think i was gonna be there mom after just a few days of knowing one another. Then the kid got attached and he got attached and by then it was too late cause i didn't want to be with his crazy ass. Even the kid was scared of him. It was just a lot

Being older, it's hard to find someone these days that doesn't have a kid or two waiting in the wings. Though I've never dated one, I wouldn't be opposed to it, but having seen a few friends go through this---I'm not dealing with contentious petty exes, any kids that just outright hate you and seek to let you know at every opportunity, or a dad that is SO involved that he really doesn't know how to balance a relationship and his kids. That's too much work that I don't want to be involved in and something I'd probably let them know up front if I ever was to try and date one.

it’s personal preference i can’t speak for everyone. i wouldn’t date a single dad on account i don’t have kids. i do look for common life experiences in who I’m dating. i think a single dad is better off dating a single mom. and vice versa
