What do you think of women on dating apps?

Yup I’m back on dating apps!

My only concerns are A) Coming across people I know and they might think I’m desperate 🥲

B) Men thinking I’m on there to sleep around

I've signed up because well, I want to be in a relationship but I also want to go on a few dates. I haven’t spoken to anyone etc since autumn last year after I got my heartbroken. I finally feel I’m ready to start dating again and finding a long term relationship.

If you go on the apps with negative thoughts those are the types of guys you're going to end up attracting. Make sure to update your profile... stay positive... and try not to overshare... Be realistic about who you're swiping/clicking/choosing...

Make it clear on the profile that you're not "DTF" etc. so they know you're looking for a relationship, not a hookup. Even then... ask a couple of questions before meeting up with the guy so you're not surprised with a faker who wants a one-night thing.

Personally, I'll never do the apps, but I've watched three of my closest friends use them. It worked for one of them (sort of), but the other two are always connecting with the wrong guys... Meanwhile, the guys I know who use the apps are always "striking out" (their words, not mine... I don't know if that means they met the girl and it didn't work out or if they don't get to meet anyone... or a mix of both).

It's sort of a roll of the dice. Chin up and stay positive, ok, Lost & Found? :)

Well, being on dating apps is taking a risk. Is impossible to avoid a) and b) as you can't control what others assume and think of you. When you match with someone be honest to them tell them you're looking for a relationship and are not in a rush for anything.

B) Men thinking you're a sleazy sleuth: Oh my, the scandal of it all! But worry not, my friend, for your intentions are as pure as a unicorn's fart. If any scoundrel dares to assume you're a hussy, just give them a good old-fashioned cootie shot and remind them that your heart is as sparkling as a princess wand. Any man who can't appreciate your magical sparkle is a big fat meanie and doesn't deserve your time.

The men on these apps, well, they're probably all a bunch of booger-eating, nose-picking, wedgie-deserving goofballs anyway. So, you do you, my friend, and don't let anyone rain on your parade!

I don't go on dating apps. I'm good at having real conversations but I'm not good at these games people play on dating apps at the start. And I don't like talking to a woman while she has 50 other guys messaging her. It would be a lot easier for me if I could do the "as long as she has a vagina and looks good it's a win" approach to dating. However since I'm autistic and my mind literally works different than other peoples, I have to be quite selective when it comes to all the mental criteria. So that's the exact opposite of what dating apps were made for. If I never get a chance to talk to these women because the first 2 words I wrote, didn't fit the current dating app trend, of what a guy should say and what's most effective, then it's pointless. I don't think what dating needed, was being more superficial, more judgmental, being quicker to move on from a person etc.

A lot of the women I met on them weren't ready to date or had issues which made them undateable. If you don't have those drawbacks, make it clear what you want and quickly filter out the guys who don't want the same thing or are otherwise undateable.

It's okay to be selective. Don't jump at the first guy who contacts you. Let your profile clearly say what you're looking for, and make sure that any guy that contacts you understands that.

Men won't think either of those things. Most people on those apps will assume the opposite; that you're there for attention and likely have no plans to sleep with them at all.

Not saying it's fair... but you have to admit that there are an awful lot of women who go on apps to waste people's time.

Years ago when I looked online this is what I noticed.

1. Women that say they want a relationship actually want casual sex most of the time. (They quickly offer it in messages before even meeting IRL)

2. "I'm not like other women" is one of the most common things found in the description to many women's profiles. In fact, making them just like many others.

3. Many are low quality. (Obese, many tattoos, have a promiscuous past, have kids from their past, etc.)

4. Many just post pictures and say little or nothing about their interests/hobbies, their morals, what they want in a potential partner, etc.

5. There are many that like to party (drugs and alcohol).

6. There are many scammers and fake profiles.

7. If someone's only picture is just their face, they are VERY fat.

I think women on dating apps are busy or looking for someone outside their circle.

I don't see it in a negative sense. I met some amazing people whom I'd never have met otherwise. Some we still keep in contact one is a really good friend we just didn't like eachother Romantically.

It also helps cut through that is she/ he single or not... Are they ready for /wanting a relationship.
Of course some men and women are just there to sleep around. Hopefully you figure those ones out early.

That being the case, why should you feel any more or less desperate than anyone else you meet on there?

Seems like most of the women on there are either looking for easy attention without even going on actual dates, or wanting to ride the cock carousel! It’s not like most of the men are any better, though… swiping on any girl that breathes and trying to get a hookup.

dating apps are legitimately the biggest joke for men. I think women are extremely picky and entitled. I know this because the only fit feminine and beautiful women I match with regularly are black women, who get the least attention on dating apps. so basically it isn't me women are swiping left on, it's because thwyre swamped with likes from men way out of their league. literal d1 athletes who could get a dozen girls in a week if they wanted. and this basic skinny girl thinks she's on his level because she's skinny.

Its funny how women both push dating to apps and internet dating but at the same time don't want to be there themselves as it both shows that they are unable to attract a mate IRL and can't pretend to be there for something else.

Anyway I don't really view them differently from other women. Its bread and butter of post-Metoo dating.

There are some good women, but a guy is very unlikely to ever meet one. So the good women fight an uphill battle as they will be overshadowed by the sheer number of trash women that are on dating apps

I think it's pretty unanimously understood that dating apps are hookup apps these days. If you don't know that, you're pretty naive. If you as a woman do know that and you're using a dating app anyway, you're not the kind of woman good men (myself included) want. I hope that answers your question.

PS - I don't use dating apps, obviously. Never have and never will. I will shop for some things online, but not for women.
