If you don't want to just ask him, we can make random guesses. Maybe you gained weight and it hurts sometimes so he has to be feeling strong or have a soft chair to be sitting in. Maybe he doesn't want you to sit on his lap if he's horny and you aren't, because it will give him blue balls. Maybe you stink sometimes, so he has to pick the times you smell good. Maybe he stinks sometimes, so he has to pick the times he smells good. I can keep going. But the point is that you should ask him.
