What does it mean to be emotionally mature?

Oh, great question. I have been listening to a sermon series from a Pastor teaching how to be emotionally mature! It is a great sermon series. It means where you don't make emotions based off of your feelings. You don't make decisions that will destroy not only your life but others. You have awareness of others, empathy and sympathy. We are the mastermind behind the dumbest and biggest mistakes we've made in our life. An emotionally intelligent person is not controlled by their emotions, but controls their own emotions. Emotionally intelligent people understand what what certain circumstances or situations will do by affecting their emotions. It means you are able to examine yourself to do better. The reason so many people don't examine their selves is because we will see the real us, and it will make us feel bad about ourselves. Being emotionally intelligent means you can understand your emotions. You shouldn't be hasty when making a decision. We often lie to ourselves, because we naturally want to protect ourselves against any from of attack. But it is important to examine yourself. An emotionally intelligent person does things and avoids certain things while thinking about their future and others. There is so much more to learn on it, but it is so much to write!!

That you don’t make decisions based of ur emotions. You are a realist and think through before letting ur emotions take the best of any situation.

Being emotionally mature is basically being able to control your emotions and and act out of care for others.
