Do girls avoid dating guys with autism because they feel they are taking advantage of them?

So I had posted a question the other day and someone replied that if a girl sees your autistic she most likely won’t date you because she feels it’s taking advantage of you. I’m curious if this is a real thought process because many people on the spectrum are very intelligent and aware of if someone was trying to exploit or take advantage of them

Intelligence =/= Wise or Streetsmart.

I know an autistic guy who is ludicrously intelligent. He does fantastic work, but his pillow princess (in life) of a stay at home girlfriend is absolutely taking advantage of him and his belief that no one would keep him as a guy with autism. It is so painful to see.

She doesn't work, doesn't do anything but play video games all day (doesn't even stream), doesn't cook or clean or contribute. She just drinks his liquor, eats his food, and doesn't even go over to him to give him affection.

He has to go to her.

And because he is autistic and isn't familiar with what is "normal behaviour", she's managed to gaslight him into thinking his dependent adult girlfriend is normal.

I can only tell you why I never dated anyone with autism. To put it succinctly, it's because their whole identity is wrapped up in being autistic. It becomes the go-to excuse for quirky or bad behavior. If someone has it, can keep it under control, not announce it and lean on it, that's one thing. But that's not how it ever works out.

Because it is their identity everything about them is in someway connect to their autism

Like if I dated a girl and I refused to go in large crowds what would I say if it was connected to my autism. If I was in an area and got overstimulated by loud noises what do I say according to the way you frame it. The reality is it affects the way we talk, process things I have slower reaction and processing time and my previous ex girlfriend hit me because of it

It’s not an excuse I think at the core of it you aren’t accepting of it I think you live in a world where autistic people are supposed to behave as neurotypicals and it’s just a cute label

Depends what type of autism you're talking about. Actual developmental impairment, where the person struggles to function as an adult, of course. Who wouldn't feel that way? If you're talking about the modern type of autism, the social awkwardness and sensory issues, then I think girls would be more bothered about the character traits than any concern about the inability to be self-sufficient and consent like an adult.

That is just a stereotype. Autism is a spectrum. A large chunk of them aren't like that.
