I used to be a non believer and was always trying to figure out the meaning of life or it's purpose. But after I started reading scripture, I started to see it in a very different way. We strive for love because this earth was always meant to be a physical representation of the Heavenly Realms that has no sickness, poverty, disease or hate (a simplification).
In Matthew 18:18 it says we can bind anything here on earth that is not in Heaven. I've seen this be successful over 5 times in the last few months. People tried to say it was coincidence, but after the 5th time, they could no longer call it this! I see people struggle in life with things that shouldn't be in it. They have no idea they can bind those things in Jesus' name (and loose something better). Of course, I do talk to people about it but it only works if you have faith... and faith only comes through hearing the Word!
Binding has made my life infinitely better in so many ways and it is only the tip of the iceberg.
Life is training to live if you are smart enough to learn.

Those phrases are fantasy crap, playing on the Disney fantasy of "happily ever after", and that's not only unrealistic but it's actually toxic. As is the idea that love (romantic love in this case) is the most important thing. It's important, but it's NOT the most important thing. Morals, values, honor, and duty are the most important things.
Love is not easy, and it means as much work and sacrifice as it does benefits and happy feelings. Love is NOT "happily ever after" - love is facing your problems together and supporting each other as much as you can.
Okay, assuming you are correct (you're a smart guy and I generally respect your opinions.) Then the obvious followup question is: Where does morality come from and how do you instill it in broader society?
I have to disagree. Life teaches different things to different people.
Some branches of Budhism say our planet is a play pen. That we (our eternal souls) come here to play. That we should have no attachments to anything. Whether it be joy and love or pain and suffering it's all just a game.
Is life a lesson to our souls like that then? Just experiences that shape us and we explore? How much choice do we have? Whether we suffer or not? If we want love to be our lesson maybe it can be but we have to choose it.
yea sounds right in some regards.
eventually, ya go back to that... being one with all eternity... but possibly rejected by it and spit out.
@lightbulb27 I hope you're enjoying the vacation - personally and I'm a little bipolar, most times I like to think there's a paradise of rewards for some rare humble souls, the majority go to a eternity in a painful hell realm/or darkness / cease to exist or both - and only some get a permanent reward ๐๐๐
@paledreams check out the physicists who say if you have enough energy, can make your own universe. Jesus had enough energy... tapping into the whole of it... and said he's making a new "house" with many rooms. so if believe in Jesus and do his will, you get to go through that and to his new universe "home"... with a new body and life based upon love, which is what Jesus ascribes.
It's either that or take your chances.
the only thing we really want in this world is...
I like to think of life as a test (borrowed from House MD show) and some may get an afterlife reward someday, others darkness or or painful realm of hell lol - this all being in the next life lol 😆😆😅😆
So even without religions, I find life a test. No I don't believe in god. There may or is a devil ๐๐ฟ
life's a mess... then you try and make the most of it
Tell that to the babies that are born with horrible mutations and die slowly. Or tell that to rape victims who are slowly tortured and eventually killed all throughout their childhood.
Uhhโฆno. That would mean afterward thereโs some where to graduate to.
no connection ! life doesn't teach love.
