I don't know about reality shows but about 10 years or so I got a message from someone on a dating site who said they were an agent for a famous actress who was going through the dating site and was interested in going on a date with me.

Of course I immediately assumed it was some kind of scammer but asked if they would give me their phone number so I could call to find out if they were legitimate.

So I called the number and sure enough it was a legitimate talent agency and this person was a legitimate agent for celebrities.

So we talked for a while and she only gave me a very shallow description of who it was saying that she could not reveal it and I would not know until I met her on the date. In other words it was a blind date for me but she knew who she was meeting.

She told me a little bit about her like her age range and her height and a very general description about her career and so forth but that's about it.

So I told her I would have to think about it because I don't go on blind dates.

I thought and thought and finally decided I wasn't going to do it because I didn't like the fact that she could know who I am but I can't know who she is until I meet her.

So I called her back and said thanks but no thanks. After I decided not to I asked her if she could tell me who it was but she said no sorry it had to be confidential.

And that was the end of that. I do wonder once in awhile if I made a mistake and I'm still curious sometimes about who it was. But I'm not unhappy about my decision. I just didn't feel that was fair. I told her I would keep it completely confidential but that didn't help. She just wouldn't tell me who it was.

Why not?
Unless one is incredibly dumb they have to realize such people in the shows are just acting right? It's 90% of the time not what they are actually like.
So why would I judge them based on what they are doing in a show to make it entertaining for such people who watch those shows?

Yeah , I'd love to actually , I have one in my mind , and I know her and knew her before Reality TV , she is a serious smart , incredible , beautiful woman , who did it as a single mother ( and studied ) and guess what? I introduced her to her ex husband , who I now know has severe mental issues..

That's just one great example of reality TV.

Not sure, those shows are somewhat scripted so the person may not have behaved like themselves on it.

I do not watch those so would not know. I have encountered supposed "celebrities" and had no idea who they were until being told by someone.

All of that is fake anyway. It’s Hollywood and the scenes are scripted for entertainment. Why would anyone want to watch the typical persons boring repetitive life?

Probably not. Unless it was a farmers only show or something like that. I’m not a big fan of people knowing my business. Those homestead shows with spouses are pretty cool though.
