Beauty standards?

So I'm curious.. you hear all the time from ladies talking about beauty standards that men have but I'm not sure how. Most of you "average" looking women could, might have rotations of men who are physically more attractive as men then they are was women that they could or might have slept with and most men would sleep with anything. Even your typical handsome guy has less sexual selection then your typical average woman. With that being said, why do women or society in general believe women are suppressed to high standards they have to adhere to when it comes to dating? Usually men have to be the best versions of themselves physically and in other departments to have more options as opposed to women.. so someone can give their input because I'm confused.

You got a point man, it ain't always that simple. For sure a lotta girls out there got options and don't need to try as hard lookin' wise to get with dudes. But there's still pressures on both sides, ya know?

Like even if average girls can hook up with hotter guys, society wanna make em feel shitty for not lookin' like models or influencers. Ads, movies, music videos all pushin' this ideal. And guys are judgey about weight and stuff too sometimes.

Plus girls might got choice in hookups, but what if they want more than that like a long term boyfriend? Then they feel the need to compete and worry if they good enough to keep a dude. Or be "girlfriend material."

At the same time you right that dudes gotta work harder overall to stand out. But girls deal with unwanted attention and disrespect sometimes just exists. Some guys only see em as sex objects cause of magazines and porn.

And like you said, handsome guys can still face rejection even if they put in effort. Ain't easy for anyone out here. We all just tryna be happy and find someone who sees our worth, ya feel?

Anyways, just sayin it's complicated on both sides with pressures from culture and each other. Nobody has it perfect in the dating game!

Because those women don’t desire the guys who are into them because they can’t get with better looking women. So they are frustrated that those attractive guys they want have better options

You need to actually ASK a question and clarify what you want answered from all the stuff in your description. You've packed too much into one vague post... The one question I see in the description is about standards for dating, but the lead question is about "beauty standards" and even that's unclear bc you don't clarify if you want to review standards FOR/BY guys/gals...

You are under the delusion there is such a thing as “average” looking. What is average looking to you might be very good-looking to someone else, so that makes a mockery of so-called beauty standards.

I'm not speaking subjectively or to the eye of the beholder. I'm speaking realistically.. the "average" looking woman (if she truly is average overall) has a higher sexual selection then a conventionally handsome man from what I've seen. Now I could be wrong or maybe I'm just basing it off of intimacy as opposed to commitment. Just saying.

And that's not a slight towards anyone nor am I making a mockery, hell, I might be average to women my damn self, I don't know, I'm just stating for conversational purposes I feel women aren't under the pressure of beauty standards they think they are in order to have the options they feel they deserve in the dating market.
