What do you think of beauty standards?

Everyone has his or her own.

What I object to is when advertisers try to force their beauty standards on society. For example, most people still don't find obese people attractive, but you see obese people more and more in ads for beauty products & clothing. Yes, I know as a society, we are getting fatter, and fat people spend money too, but it's false to promote it as a standard of beauty when most people would reject it.

and I do give personality, character, confidence and vibes a lot of value too... mixed up with the looks

I see people as whole... rather than a few "markers" of "standards" here and there

I think they're pointless and sometimes harmful. They can stress people out by making them feel they need to present themselves in a way that they don't feel is true to themselves.

I'm not up to date with what they are. I just look at what I think is right and it's been working for me.

They are really important to breed the best into all of us.

Unfortunately, ISO organization has not yet published a respective rule to follow.

Practically, I find it kind of important - it cannot be that people get through with being careless about their weight, hygiene or health.
