The doctor I have gone to in the past.. their office tells me it is $380 not counting if additional testing is needed, plus I should get bloodwork done. I don't have medical insurance with my current job. I do have plenty of money, but also seems silly to spend money on this when I am pretty young and healthy.. but 5 years is a long time to have not had a physical, so waiting until my job changes or I marry someone and get on their health insurance doesn't seem sensible.

Here are a few thoughts on whether it's worth getting a physical for $380:
- That does seem like a pretty high price to pay, especially without insurance. $380 could be spent on a bunch of other stuff.
- At the same time, it has been 5 years since your last physical. Doctors usually recommend going every 1-2 years just to stay on top of your health.
- A lot can change in 5 years health-wise, even if you feel fine now. Better to catch any potential issues early before they become problems.
- They'll probably do blood work as part of it. That's a good way to check things like cholesterol, blood sugar, etc. Sometimes issues can be hidden.
- If you're planning to get insurance soon with a new job or marriage, it might be worth waiting a few months. But who knows when exactly that will happen.
- Could you wait and just go to one of those walk-in doctor places where it might be cheaper? Maybe only $100-200 instead of $380.
Overall, as much as $380 is steep, it might be worth paying just for peace of mind since it's been so long. Or see if you can find a lower cost option. Your health is important, so probably better not to put it off too many more years. Let me know what you decide!
