Why would he block me?

There was this guy I used to talk to every single day. We've known each other for years and we were pretty close friends. We were talking more than usual one week, and the next Friday morning, I woke up and had been blocked. I never did anything wrong. I have feelings for him and I thought it was mutual. I never confessed these feelings so it wouldn't be his reason for blocking me. Why would he do that for no reason?

Update: Some of my friends that were also in contact with him were also blocked, so I don't think it's something to do with me.

I'm going to go with @noohair on this one. It makes a lot of sense. You guys have been close friends for years and then all of a sudden you were blocked, and then you noted some of your friends were too. With no explanation. It could be possible that his mom or both parents knew who he was talking to and told him to cut you guys off.

But we also don't know all about him personally and whatever goes on inside his head. Maybe he was feeling depressed and felt like he needed some kind of change, and then just blocked everybody as his way of getting that change and starting over. Really no way to tell.

I totally agree with you, and I've honestly decided to let it go for now. It's out of my control. When I see him at school again in a few weeks I'll be able to tell where we stand. Thanks for helping!

Probably you were one of like 3 girls he texted every day.

Maybe he met a girl he wanted to date and blocked you so she would not be worried?

Maybe he got tired of trying to get you to be his girlfriend and meet him or just be friends with benefits.

What ever the reason it's awful and no reason to end a long friendship.

That's true, I'm sure he knew, but he was doing the same things. Could never take a smile off his face when he was with me. Why couldn't he just tell me he didn't feel the same?

It's possible he did feel the same. This is not a logical situation but an emotional one. It's quite possible that someone is blocked due to feelings being mutual.

I thought that too, so I'm leaving it up to him since I can't do anything about it.

Yes, this is the best course of action, but if he does decide to contact you or unblock, you need to remember this lesson.

Actually that's a very big possibility because his parents are very overprotective
