Means she's ridiculous. What's a promise ring the promise FOR anyway? And why push the guy to give her something? If the guy WANTS to commit to her, HE will think about the bauble he wants to give her to show his commitment.

Nah I wouldn’t say ridiculous, I saw they online, jewelry stores have a section/category online labelled promise rings. She seems serious with me and I am ready for a commitment. No girl has said that to me so I’m flattered

So then do it. And what's after the "promise ring"? A pre-engagement ring before the engagement ring? And a prenup ring before the wedding ring? and so on?

Have to be positive, communicate, share the same values and put the faith/trust in God, end of the day we are two adults. Like I said she’s one of the nicest girls I’ve met. For years all I’ve dealt with are girls

Commitment rings are meant to be oriented towards marriage. “Promise to be married” was the value of the engagement ring….

The value of the so-called “promise ring” doesn’t really serve that purpose. It’s a dead end purchase.
