Coffee dates, and first dates?

Are first date coffee dates no longer acceptable? I think it’s a good option for less pressure. I’m starting to hear that coffee dates are boring now, and am not hearing alternatives that make sense for a safe first date.

It’s down to the person.. personally, not a fan of coffee dates. I don’t drink coffee. Also not a fan of going out to eat or drink anything on a first date, to me that’s more of a 3rd date sort of thing. I like first dates to be very simple, maybe I’m boring. Go for a walk along the river and get to know each other, hang out at home & watch a movie, etc. My first date with my partner was me going to his place to just hang out. Ended up staying like 7 hours and we watched movies and talked.

Personally, unless I’ve known her for a bit and had decided to ask her out. Inviting her over to my place just seems intimidating for her to say yes to for a first date. If it’s her idea then it’s no big deal to me. It’s just not something I would lead with on my end.

And that’s absolutely fair! Understandable for most people not to be comfortable with that due to the risks involved. Going for a nice walk in a public area where there’s some nature like trees, water, etc is very nice too.

I would accept a coffee date. It’s causal and laid back. Then again, I’m not high maintenance nor have ridiculous demands for a first date. 😊
