On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is it that you're attracted to your partner's voice?

10 being they have the most lovely voice in the world. Their voice sounds like it came from the heavens.

Extremely important, like an 8-10. The reason is that I am very sensitive to tones and rhythm (probably my musical side). I can't process what someone is actually saying if their voice is annoying or odd because I am picking up the distinctive notes and cadence of their voice and it's highly distracting. I don't mean to, it just happens. I have to work very hard to concentrate on what they are saying.

Same here. I was talking to 2 girls online recently from dating apps and was immediately turned off from their voices. I felt shallow, but ended communication because of that both times 😅

I have sensitive hearing to the point where unfortunately I can't go clubbing due to loudness and hear things your not supposed to hear like those extremely loud boxes that scare cats away (If people heard them like I do they wouldn't buy them, its marketed as annoying tone not as extremely damagingly loud tone).

So for me its also extremely important and I simultaneously discovered something really cool. Because audio is my primary sense I rely on audio to spot deception. So people can poker face me all they want I'll hear it in their voice rather than reading their face. I seem to have an audiographic memory and things like words I also remember as audio rather than letters.

This makes sense. Most people don't like their voices, and I tend to think mine is a bit too high-pitched and unpleasant. But being a musician, I naturally have a nice cadence and reach consonant notes, so maybe that's why it's never been an issue for me.

@sawno That is really cool! I can relate to hearing noises others can't hear. TVs make a high-pitched noise that I can hear from the other end of the house, and it drives me nuts. :(

@parrottfarelly It's hard to describe, and it isn't always the same thing. If someone has a very distinctive pitch or rhythm, it can be very distracting. A guy with a very breathy or nasally speaking voice, a very monotone voice, a flat voice (like a musical note flat), or an odd accent can all be very distracting. It's great for mimicry, not so great for social settings. I have to stop myself from mimicking their voice.

Are those the CRT TV's? Because on LCD's I don't have that but on those CRT's its very high pitched and very present. I also hear the electrics inside my wifi router and powerline adapters.

@sawno Yep. My parents have one at their house, and they'll leave it on (nothing playing). I still have a DVD player for the kids to use at my house (I don't want them exploring streaming quite yet). I can hear it when it's on and not running anything.

Not how they sound more so what they say and if they mean it. 24/7 I'm in constant pain from: Kyphosis, Dysmenorrhea, Vulvodynia, Migraines, PFMT, and IBS-M, what he says, his caring words (& actions!) are what I prefer more and are what I am attracted to. "Would a heat pad help your cramps?", "Can I refill your water for you?", "Is your migraine worse? Do you want me to grab Excedrin from the med cabinet for you?", cuddle up together on my worst days when pain feels 911 like 10/10, etc.

Around an 8. One thing I look for in a serious partner is that her voice is soothing. Often times I end up having to do very dangerous and difficult tasks for work and it is emotionally draining. So, I look forward to hearing my partner's voice and having them help me forget my worries.

Good question. I think it's very important, because I know for a fact a screechy, nasally, annoying voice can be irritating to me. A nice low and mellow sound is more attractive and pleasant and can be sexy in men.
