Would you date someone who's VERY dumb (or smart)?

Going to watch the movie Idiocracy soon, and I've just learned what the plot is. A man & woman get frozen and wake up years & years in the future when humanity has become really fucking dumb.

So hypothetically like that situation, or the reverse, but you're the only one who got frozen.

  • Would you even want to date or pursue a relationship with anyone who's so much dumber than you? That they can barely even follow you in conversation if you speak slow and simple for them, or that you have to help them with (what seems to you like) basic tasks all the time?
  • What about the opposite, someone so much smarter than you? That you could barely follow them in conversation if they speak slow and simple for you, or who sees many tasks that you find nearly impossible to be very simple and easy to them?

Do you think you'd ever be happy in a relationship like that? Or would you just be dating around hoping you'd eventually find someone else who's closer to your own intelligence level?
