Do you think that it's okay for black women to date outside their race?

Asking because I will admit, as a mixed girl who would just consider herself "black" mainly (I guess), I do love white men and Hispanic men. I like black guys too, but I kind of just assume they won't like me because I'm too weird for them or they just like white women, Latinas and Asians anyways..

Yeah, but um, ever since I was a teenager, white guys have just treated me like shit or like an after thought or were straight up just racist and not interested.. while Hispanic guys were pretty nice, but they always found me weird, and black guys showed absolutely ZERO interest in me unless they were mixed like me?

Like, am I even allowed to date outside my race? Mom tells me all white men have to capability to be racist, no matter where they come from, US, Canada, Europe, etc.. and I don't know, I feel like Hispanics are more into white girls and stuff, just like black men.

Maybe I'm just thinking about it too hard, but what do you guys think? I mean absolutely no malice with this question, just curious.

You don't need the opinion of others to do whatever your want and whatever feels right for you. You don't have to report to others about your life as long as you don't do anything illegal or criminal.

If you feel that you want to date outside your race, then by all means do it. It is of nobody's business to judge you or to tell you what is right or wrong.

Now, as for me, I would personally never do it but this is my prerogative because it is my belief that genes should not be mixed. That is solely what I would prefer and not what I want for others. What others do is none of my business.

We all have our preferences as what we would want in a partner, but I think skin tone is the least of my worries. More important to me are eye colour, hair colour and overall physique. And most of all, who she really is, if I feel affinity with her.

If you go far back enough in time, we're all humans. We are all 'mixed' to some point. Our immediate ancestors may come from all over the globe, or they may all be from your home town. Who cares?

'Racist' is anyone who doesn't want to interfere with someone who has a different skin colour, for the sole reason of the other person having a different skin colour. It's not something only 'white' people possess.

Your race is "human". Any delineations beyond that are pretty irrelevant. Well, okay, if you're dating someone far enough back on the evolutionary tree that they don't walk upright, maybe that's an issue, but that's unlikely to pop up if you're not dating in four million BC.

And any man, or woman, REGARDLESS OF SKIN COLOR, is capable of being racist. Most aren't, at least not to any real degree. Date the individual, not the ethnicity.

Of course. The son of one of my old neighbors is white and has been married to a black woman for years. One of my good friends from college had a black mother and an Asian father. I have dated black women. It sounds like you ARE thinking about it too hard.

Yes of course you can date whoever you like. Even if we were to accept the idea that you have to stick to your “own” race, you are technically both black and white so you could date either or another mixed person.
