Should I try speed dating again? Will I ever find someone?

Okay so last night I went on a speed date. That’s an event that you socialize and see who you match up with. It was great a socialization. I talked to three guys and two it went well and one…. it was awkward. So I got a match with two guys but once they saw me stand up, they bailed out. One was like, “Oh sh*t you’re huge! You didn’t tell me you were tall!”

The other one said, “Damn 6’4”? Women aren’t supposed to be THAT tall! I’m 6ft. They both walked off.
I wish I was 5’8 than 6’4. I know 5’8 is tall for a female is tall but it’s better than 6’4.

Ugh! I’m so furious with my dating life. I’ll try again next weekend, if I’m up for it.

what would you think about using a different type of dating/match service.
Not one of the free online hook up sites, but if you are really serious about finding someone, someplace like it's just lunch, or eHarmony, companies like that where you can slowly get to know the person.
They will try to match you with a person that you would be interested in, not some horn dog that just wants to get laid.
most sites like those do a good job to help keep out the "players".
Sure it costs a few bucks, but so does meeting people for dinner etc.

Look I understand that and my parents told me the same thing, but I just want a man that will accept me and respect me for who I am regardless of my height. When a female is tall, it’s a HUGE deal to everyone and I’m sick of it. My brothers had long relationships and one of them is married. Of course their women are under 5’6 and they’re 6’7 and 6’8.
My parents (mom 5’8 (used to be 5’10), dad now 6’4 1/2 (used to be about 6’7) have been together for 40 years, married in ‘90. I’m sick of being the only single one out of all of them. The longest relationship I’ve had was a year in a half.

Tbh, in addition to what anon and your parents said, you tend to describe that you are competing with your brothers for relationship. I understand discrimination felt but going militant about height and engaging into relationships are really two different perspective, you're maybe at risk to confuse things here

I agree with the guy who commented, I’d also add comparisons. Comparisons are the thieves of joy. You aren’t meant to be on the same path as your brothers and that’s ok. Considering the average dude isn’t even 6’4 I totally understand how height plays into your efforts in dating. But it doesn’t mean the right guy isn’t out there, I just don’t think it’s your time to find him. You could blame your singleness on height but in general you’re in that pool with many other people when it comes to dating and trying to find a match. You should only search for so long before you take that sign from Jesus and recognize it’s not your time.

Clearly with so many failed situations, it is not your time. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. You refuse to try anything different because you’re lonely and potentially desperate. You’ve lost touch with your connection with god and lost faith in his plan for your life. You are trying to take the reigns instead and look what it’s producing for you, more trauma, disappointment and insecurity.

What you're getting is called "feedback" and you can either blame others for noticing how you put yourself out there, or pay attention and make adjustments to your behavior to reframe how other people see you. Or you can ignore the feedback, be bitter and pretend the rest of the world is unfair and wrong.

I guarantee you'll get better results and far more of what you want from the first option, it puts you in the driver's seat if you want to take responsibility for your predicaments. Guys tend to date women they find cute and not insufferable.

When I think twice at the implications, I would be as frustrated as you are for this very reason.

As a more drastic solution… but have you looked into leg shortening surgery? It’s relatively straight forward and they can shorten the upper leg by eight cms. Additional shortening of the lower leg is possible, but more risky.

I’m not that angry, I’m FRUSTRATED! My dad told me off of quit getting so frustrated over everything because it won’t help and people aren’t going to be around me. He said I’m still young (I’m 25), I have time and enjoy my single life. It will happen but the man has to get pass him and my brothers.
He always nags at me to stop getting frustrated and I need to learn to calm down.
