How to tell my best friend that I am in a relationship?

I used to have a crush on my best friend, but he moved and said he would never be interested in a long distance relationship. I accepted it, but was sad at the time. We stayed friends and I never brought up my feelings again. I thought I would never meet anyone else. Well, I ended up reconnecting with an old crush at a party and he and I have begun dating. My best friend can be arrogant and sometimes acts like he is God’s gift and that I will never like anyone but him. I want to tell him that I have moved on completely, but I don’t know how to say it without hurting his feelings. Any advice?

He rejected you, so he has no right to feel hurt or upset that you’ve moved on.


If he is anything other than happy for you then he wasn’t really your friend.
